Set on the beautiful coast of North Wales the town of COLWYN BAY is located in the centre of a large bay, stretching from the harbour at Rhos-on-Sea in the west, to the original settlement of Old Colwyn to the east.The seafront landmark of Victoria Pier is a prominent fixture jutting out from the long promenade which runs along the whole bay. The prom links the towns and villages with a level walkway & cycle route alongside the picturesque coast road which affords ample free parking. Visitors and residents can take in the views, access the sandy beach, jet ski, launch pleasure craft, do a spot of fishing or take it easy and relax with a picnic or a drink, ice-cream or light snack at one of the kiosks located along the prom.
Colwyn Bay has excellent travel links as it is located on the main route between London and Dublin. It has a mainline station in the centre of town and has the A55 Expressway running past with several junctions leading into the town. It is also on the National Express route between Chester and Bangor.
The town centre and the Bay View Shopping Centre host a selection of stores, cafes, pubs and restaurants ranging from local businesses to famous national brands catering for all tastes and needs.
Accommodation is abundant in the area as there are many hotels, bed & breakfasts, guest houses, a new Travel Lodge, and camping and caravan sites all within walking distance of the town and seafront.
Leisure activities are provided by the Eirias Park Leisure Centre and Swimming Pool. Also there is a theatre – which as well as having shows, plays and musicals, also doubles as a cinema showing many recent film releases. The Welsh Mountain Zoo is also a popular destination as it provides a great day out for people of all ages.
